Intermediate Crochet Motifs and Squares Retreat (including Wool Shop visit) with Tracey from Granny Cool Crochet
This mid-week crochet retreat is very laid back - designed for anyone who can already crochet from adventurous beginners to accomplished intermediates. It is a chance to get away from it all in peaceful surroundings, be pampered by your hosts Lucy and Liam and enjoy time with other crocheters away from the demands of work and family.
Group numbers are deliberately small, so whether you come alone or with friends, you’ll quickly feel at home. Many of us resolve to make room in our lives for our creative pursuits, but making time for crochet is the one thing even the most skilled crafter can struggle with. So, this mid-week retreat is designed with the sole purpose of giving you permission to make time for yourself and your crochet.
With this in mind your retreat also includes a morning visit to the fabulous and award winning Wool Clip shop in Caldbeck. We will whisk you in a minibus over to this gorgeous area of the Lake District where you'll have ample time to peruse all the fantastic stock on offer! You'll also have time for tea and cake in the watermill cafe next door.
Tracey will be teaching new and traditional crochet motifs, designed for you to move your skills beyond the basic Granny square. You’ll learn how to read a motif pattern and chart, how to join your motifs by crocheting “as you go” and how to sew neat seams that give your makes a professional finish!
- Workshop studio environment at Midland Barn, Renwick, CA10 1JL.
- Lunch on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Tea, coffee and refreshments throughout.
- Return Minibus transfer from Midland Barn to Caldbeck Wool Clip Shop and Cafe (Wool shop and cafe purchases are not included in price).
You will receive a project bag on arrival, which contains a special project designed by Tracey. You will be taught all the skills you need to complete your project and there will be plenty of time to explore the local countryside, with trips to our favourite cafes and special tours of local woolly businesses.
You will also be able to book an individual “Crochet clinic” session with Tracey, during this 30 minute slot you will get a chance to solve any hooky problems or master a technique you’ve been struggling with (please let Tracey know in advance if you would like to book a clinic session).
Each day will allow time for you to work on your own projects in addition to short “workshop” sessions where Tracey will pass on some of her top tips and share some of her favourite ways to finesse your crochet.
You’ll leave relaxed and refreshed with plenty of new skills and increased confidence.
