Introduction to Upholstery with Liam from Lakes and Fells

Designed for complete beginners, this session is perfect for your first foray into the upholstery world. If you are aiming to do bigger projects with us (or by yourself at home), this course is the perfect introduction to accustom yourself with the basics of upholstery. 

Full tutorial throughout with Liam. You will learn about the tools (such as the compressor staple gun, which are particularly good fun) and materials used as well as covering lots of techniques including webbing, cutting fabric correctly, working with foam, buttons/studding and choosing the correct fabrics for your job. 

Though you will take something small home with you on the day, this course is designed purely as a practical and theory based introduction to upholstery (skills required, equipment demo, tools and materials required, best fabric for jobs etc) so that going into future projects will be far less daunting. Whether completing your own project at home or on a upcoming course with myself.

This is a 3 hour course. You have the choice of two sessions on the Saturday: 9am-12pm or 1pm-4pm.

What's provided:

• Workshop studio environment at The Hut, Brampton Community Centre, CA8 1BX
• Tea, coffee and refreshments throughout.
• All upholstery materials.
• All upholstery tools are provided, but you can bring your own if preferred.

What you will need to bring with you

• 1 metre of a Upholstery fabric of your choosing. 

Booking and Cancellation Policy

We always strive to put on every workshop however due to running costs we do have a course minimum of 3 people. In the event of having less than 3, we can offer to transfer you onto another course of your convenience or receive a full refund. 

On request we can offer a spilt payment method to secure your place on a course. This would entail a 50% deposit on booking and the outstanding 50% due one month before arrival. Please email us direct to enquire about this option at: liam@lakesandfells.co.uk

If the booking is cancelled less than 30 days before the date of first workshop in this series, then a charge equal to the full booking amount will be made.

Refunds for cancellations over 30 days are subject to the small admin charge we incurred when taking initial payment.
